The best dessert of any season is ginger cookies with honey

Classic version

We will need:

  • 2 glasses of sifted flour

  • 1 glass of sugar

  • 100 g of softened butter

  • 1 egg

  • 2 teaspoons of ground ginger

  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cloves

  • 1 teaspoon of ground cardamom

  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

  • 1.5 teaspoons of baking soda

  • 3 teaspoons of honey

  • vegetable oil

Preparation method:

Mix all the spices (ginger, cardamom, cloves and cinnamon) and add the soda. Pour the mixture into the flour.

In a separate bowl, rub the butter and sugar, then add the honey and egg, and beat everything up thoroughly. Add the flour and spices to the liquid mixture and mix well. The dough should have a rich brown color.

Knead the dough well with your hands and put it in the refrigerator for 1.5-2 hours. Taking it out of the refrigerator, roll out the dough to thinness and cut out the figures.

Bake in the oven at 180 degrees on a greased baking sheet for 5-7 minutes, but in no case more, otherwise the cookies will burn.

Cookies with glaze

We will need:

  • 6 glasses of flour

  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda

  • 1 tablespoon of ground ginger

  • 1 teaspoon of ground nutmeg

  • 1 teaspoon of ground cloves

  • 1 spoonful of cinnamon

  • 1 glass of sugar

  • 1/4 glass of honey or sugar syrup

  • 0.5 glass of water

  • 1 egg

  • 1 teaspoonful of cinnamon

  • 1 glass of melted butter

For glaze:

  • 1 egg white

  • 0.5 glass of powdered sugar

  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice

Preparation method:

Mix the flour, baking soda and spices (nutmeg, ginger, cloves, cinnamon). In a separate bowl, combine the butter, sugar, water, egg and vanilla. Stir until the mixture is smooth. Combine both mixtures, mixing thoroughly.

Divide the thick mass into three parts, roll out the dough to a four centimeters thickness, and then leave in the refrigerator for two to three hours.

Roll out the cooled dough to a 6-10 millimeters thickness, then cut out the cookies and spread them on a baking sheet, without greasing it with oil, but first sprinkle with flour.

Bake cookies in the oven for ten to twelve minutes at 180C.


Mix the egg white, powdered sugar and lemon juice. Rub until the liquid is smooth.

Chocolate and ginger cookies

We will need:

  • 0.5 glass of water

  • 0.5 glass of melted butter

  • 1.5 glass of sifted flour

  • 0.5 tsp baking powder

  • 1 tablespoon of ground ginger

  • 1 teaspoon of cocoa

  • 1 teaspoon of sugar

  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon of ground cloves

  • A pinch of black pepper, nutmeg and salt

Preparation method:

Mix the syrup and butter. Put on medium heat and boil, stirring constantly. Cool slightly. Meanwhile, mix the flour, baking powder, ginger, cocoa, sugar, cinnamon, cloves, cayenne pepper, black pepper, nutmeg and salt. Add all this to the syrup with butter. Mix thoroughly. Send the prepared dough to the refrigerator for 10 minutes. Then cut out with molds cookies and put them on a baking sheet. Bake for 8 minutes at 190 degrees.
