WHAT FOODS YOU SHOULD AVOID AFTER 3 P.M.
A nutrition expert shares her useful tips
Natalia Samoylenko is a famous nutritionist. She is sure that chaotic eating will never help you get a dream body. She recommends eating at least 5 times a day, which means you should have a meal every 2.5 or 3 hours. Besides, you can vary the foods you eat. And it’s very important to divide your day into 2 halves: before and after 3 p.m.
"You should always focus on 3 p.m, regardless of your daily schedule or wake-up time. It doesn’t matter whether you consider yourself an early riser or a night person," says Natalia.
She emphasizes that in the second half of the day, the speed of glycometabolism slows down. This means that after 3 p. m., it is advisable to exclude all carbohydrates from your diet.
What foods you shouldn’t eat after 3 p.m.
Our usual side dishes for dinner (porridge, rice, pasta)
Sweet foods (confectionery, fruits, dried fruits, honey, and jam)
Starchy vegetables (carrots, beets, yams, potatoes)
All products that might increase the level of insulin: red meat, milk, and sweet dairy products (yogurts, cheese pancakes, puddings)
Key reasons to avoid these foods after 3 p.m.
Сarbohydrates give us energy. We don’t always manage to burn this energy by the end of the day. As a result, we gain extra weight.
Carbohydrates cause fluid retention in the body. Eating too many carbs for dinner can lead to a puffy face in the morning.
High insulin foods block the production of somatotropiс hormone that regulates the fat-burning processes in your body.
